In 2023, Kaoru Jitsukawa released his latest CD “Kaoru Jitsukawa plays Bach”, and his recent concerts focus on his repertoire of Bach pieces. He frequently collaborates with string players, recently broadening his activities to include the arrangement of string ensembles. After graduating from the Music High School Attached to the Faculty of Music, Jitsukawa graduated from the Tokyo University of the Arts at the top of his class before going on to complete a Master’s degree at the same university. He has also completed postgraduate courses at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. He has placed highly in various music competitions including 2nd place at the 2013 Southern Highlands International Piano Competition (Canberra, Australia), 3rd place, best recital, and best contemporary piece at the 2015 Long–Thibaud–Crespin Competition, and 1st place and the audience award at an international piano competition in Italy. Jitsukawa has given recitals in various locations in Italy, and also performed at various international music festivals including the Shanghai Music Festival, Seoul International Music Festival, the Nohant Festival Chopin (France) and another music festival in Austria. Jitsukawa has also made numerous media appearances in programs including “Recital Nova” on NHK FM, “Classical Concert Hall” on NHK’s educational channel, and “Untitled Concert” on TV Asahi.
