Since 2005, CHANEL Nexus Hall has been hosting “CHANEL Pygmalion Days,” a music program that carries on the spirit of Gabrielle Chanel—a lover and patron of the arts—by providing young musicians with performance opportunities throughout the year. Last year, to further enhance our support for performers, we launched “NEXT MOVEMENT,” a new series designed to provide musicians who have emerged from “CHANEL Pygmalion Days” and are now active on the front lines with new challenges and a platform for free expression. We hope this program will serve as a catalyst for their next leap forward.
For the second installment of the series, cellist Tatsuki Sasanuma—who has been honing his craft while traveling between France and Japan—will present two consecutive nights of concerts reminiscent of a Parisian salon, alongside up-and-coming artists of his generation.
Since participating in CHANEL Pygmalion Days in 2017, Tatsuki Sasanuma has expanded his activities across a wide range of genres, including solo, chamber, and orchestral performances. For this performance, he will join forces with violinist Eva Zavaro and pianist Théo Fouchenneret—with whom he has performed numerous times in France—at CHANEL Nexus Hall in Ginza, Tokyo, to deliver the profound depth and rich resonance of chamber music imbued with the Parisian spirit.
