Yukari Arai, studied at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, and after obtaining master of music in its graduate school, she continued her studies at Conservatoire de musique de Genève, where she was awarded the soloist diploma.
She won the third prize at 7th Monopoli international piano competition in Italy, and won many high prizes in numerous national and international piano competitions. She joined some Symphony Orchestras, and was acclaimed for her performance at 20th Festival Chopin in Paris, Piano Festival in Saint-onge of Cognac region, the recital series by the arts association of Genève. After returning to Japan in 2004, she has performed at all over the country as artist of “Young Virtuoso Series” presented by Steinway & Sons Japan, Ltd. Her debut CD was released by the Steinway label and second CD by Sony music direct. She was selected as one of the artists of CHANEL Pygmalion Days in 2007, and gave many concerts in Japan. Also as a chamber musician, she performed with a great violinist Ida Haendel on her CD, and also performed with many great musicians in concerts. She continues to pursue an active concert career as Steinway Artist, and has given lessons at master class and some university.
