Shunichiro Fukuda
Violin
Born in 1994, Shunichiro Fukuda started to learn the violin at the age of three. He received 1st prize and the Grand Prix in the junior high school division of the 1st Yokohama International Music Competition, 3rd place at the 66th Student Music Concours of Japan, and a prize for his performance in the violin division of the 85th Music Competition of Japan. In 2016, he received an outstanding performance award at the Asahikawa Vienna International Violin Seminar.
He has played in La Folle Journée au Japon, the Spring Festival in Tokyo, the Spring Green Music Festival in Ishikawa, Kanazawa, and the Annual Concert by Rookie Musicians hosted by the Yomiuri Shimbun, and has performed with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra and Japan Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition to playing as a soloist, he has avidly pursued the study of chamber music at the Ozawa International Chamber Music Academy Okushiga, Asia, Project Q and Viola Space, and he is a season member of the Kioi Hall Chamber Orchestra Tokyo in 2017.
He graduated from the Tokyo College of Music with top honors and is currently a second year student at the Tokyo College of Music Graduate School as a Special Scholarship Student. He has also studied under Machie Oguri and Yasuko Ohtani. In 2016, he was a scholarship student of the Aoyama Foundation.
