Keina Satoh
Cello
Born in Obu, Aichi Prefecture, Keina SATOH graduated from the Juilliard School under David Finckel and Clara Kim. This autumn she will be attending the Colburn School in Los Angeles. After graduating from junior high school, she moved to the United States and enrolled at Walnut Hill School for the Arts. And she started studying at the New England Conservatory of Music Preparatory School at the same time.
She has won the 74th Student Music Concours of Japan (University Category) and received the Encouragement Award from The Mainichi Shimbun and NHK President's Award. Performed at NHK Nagoya New Year Concert 2016 with Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Masahiko Enkoji. Her media appearances include “Recital Passio” (NHK-FM Radio, Japan) among others. She played Dvořák’s cello concerto at the Osaka Symphony Orchestra New Year Concert(2022) with conductor Ryuichiro SONODA, and has played with outstanding artists including Seiji Ozawa, Kyoko Takezawa, Miyuji Kaneko, and Shinya Kiyozuka. She also held many recitals on her own. Has participated in Casals Festival, MusicAlp Festival, Curtis Summerfest, Ozawa International Chamber Music Academy Okushiga, Kirishima International Music Festival Kagoshima, Rohm Music Seminar, and others.
She also attended master classes with Franz Helmerson, Wen-Sinn Yang, Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, Dai Miyata, and others. Has studied under the late Akira Kubota, Hirooka Naoki, Ryoichi Hayashi, Yutaka Hayashi, Kenji Nakagi, Kaoru HANAZAKI, Nobuko Yamazaki, and Emmanuel Feldman. She received the Yamaha Music Foundation Scholarship from 2021 to 2022.
