Kaneko Rintaro
After completing the soloist diploma course at the Toho Gakuen School of Music, Rintaro Kaneko studied at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Hungary. He has won numerous awards in competitions in Japan and abroad, including the Concert Marronnier, International Johannes Brahms Competition, and Carlo Evasio Soliva Competition for Piano and Chamber Music. He has also performed on NHK's "Meikyoku Album" and NHK-FM's "Meikyoku Recital". His expansive repertory extends from the baroque to the modern, and he has taken part in world premieres of various works in Japan, Hungary, and Austria. From 2003 to 2007 he was principal cellist of the Osaka Symphony Orchestra, and from 2007 to 2008 special principal cellist. He is now regularly invited by various orchestras as guest principal cellist, and performs with the SAITO KINEN ORCHESTRA. He is first cellist of the TOKYO MOZART PLAYERS, and is a member of Super Trio 3°C, the Nagaokakyo Chamber Ensemble, Quartet Mark, and the Chamber Players.
