Junna Iwasaki

Born in Japan, Junna Iwasaki graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts. She continued her studies at the University for Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, from which she graduated with a BM degree with the highest honors. She continues to study on the Master of Music degree course there. Junna Iwasaki has received numerous prizes at international piano competitions, including a diploma at the 16th International Chopin Competition in Warsaw in 2010. Her performance was highly acclaimed by Jury Member Martha Argerich, whose comment was repeated at a subsequent media interview. In 2011, she was invited to perform at the concert commemorating the 200th anniversary of Franz Liszt’s birth at the Musikverein in Vienna. She has performed with the Central Aichi Symphony Orchestra and the Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Keiko Mitsuhashi, and the Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra under the batons of both Shigeo Genda and Tomomi Nishimoto. She also toured with violinist Sergey Malov throughout Japan and received excellent reviews everywhere. Junna Iwasaki is one of the most promising young pianists in Japan, and has already given recitals in various European cities including Vienna, Salzburg, Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Warsaw, Antwerp, and Frankfurt. In July 2015, her first album was released by Nippon Acoustic Records Inc.
