Haruka Nagao
Violin
Graduating from Tokyo University of the Arts at the top of her class, Haruka Nagao received the Acanthus Award. She completed her Master’s Degree and is currently enrolled in the doctoral program of Tokyo University of the Arts. Since September 2015 she has also been studying at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Hungary. To date she has won numerous awards including 1st place in the 6th Toshiya Eto Violin Competition, 1st place in the junior high school division in the national competition of the 58th All Japan Student Music Competition, 1st place in the 1st Munetsugu Angel Violin Competition, and 1st place in the violin section of the 76th Music Competition of Japan. She also won the Masuzawa prize, Leucadia prize, Sumi prize and Kuroyanagi prize, and placed 5th in the 2008 Long-Thibaud International Music Competition and 3rd in the violin section of the 4th Sendai International Music Competition. As a soloist, she has played with various orchestras including the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra, Central Aichi Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Osaka Century Symphony Orchestra, Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra, New Philharmonic Orchestra Chiba, Gunma Symphony Orchestra, Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, Kobe City Chamber Orchestra, Sinfonietta Shizuoka, Yamagata Symphony Orchestra, New Japan Philharmonic, Shizuoka Symphony Orchestra, Geidai Philharmonia, and Orchestre philharmonique de Radio France.
