Daisuke Yagi

Born in Kanagawa, Japan in 2003, Daisuke Yagi started to receive lessons from Maiko Fujii at the age of four, and Rie Ishii at the age of six. He currently studies under Aki Kuroda, Kazuoki Fujii and Vincenzo Balzani, and receives mentoring from Tatiana Zelikman and Dmitri Bashkirov. He won the grand prize and the audience award at the Seventh Piano Talent International Competition in May 2017. He also won the third prize at the 30th POZZUOLI International Piano Competition in October 2017; He was aged 13, the youngest in history who won one of these prizes at this competition. He won the grand prize and the audience prize in the fourth Steinway Competition in Japan in March 2018. He won the first prize (at the youngest in history) and the Beethoven award in the classical section in Citta di Cantu Piano Competition in May 2018. He won the first prize at the youngest in history in Andrea Baldi International Piano Competition in June 2019. He currently studies at Faculty of Letters, Keio University.
