Asako Fukuda
Violin
Born in 1996, Asako Fukuda began studying the violin at 2 years old. She won many prizes and competitions such as the 19th Tokyo Music Competition 2021 String Section (the 1st Place), the 87th Music Competition of Japan (the 3rd Place), the 18th Tokyo College of Music Competition String Section (the 1st Place), and the 16th Kloster Schöntal Violin Competition in Germany (the 2nd Prize and Bach Prize). Her concert appearances include the 89th Annual Concert by Rookie Musicians in Tokyo and the 30th Pacific Music Festival. She held recitals at Fukinoto Hall (Sapporo), Makomanai Rokkatei Hall (Sapporo), and Munetsugu Hall (Nagoya). She performed as a guest soloist with Tokyo City Philharmonic Orchestra, Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, and Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. She received scholarship from the Meiji Yasuda Cultural Foundation, Aoyama Music Foundation, Munetsugu Angel Fund/Japan Federation of Musicians Scholarship for Emerging Performers, and Moritani Scholarship Foundation. And she was sent to Sibelius Academy as a sponsored exchange student from Tokyo College of Music. As a chamber music player, she had attended Project Q (held by TV Man Union, Inc., Japan) and Music Dialogue (Tokyo, Japan) and others. She was a member of Kioi Hall Chamber Orchestra Tokyo in 2020/2021 season and was a 6th term academy fellow of Suntory Hall Chamber Music Academy. She graduated Tokyo College of Music and its master’s degree achieving the highest honours and is currently in the 1st year of studies at its doctoral degree. She has studied under Machie Oguri, Yasuko Ohtani, Koichiro Harada, Hamao Fujiwara, and Natusmi Tamai.
