Winner of the 1996 Young Concert Artists International Auditions, ADAM NEIMAN was presented by YCA in his New York debut at the 92nd Street Y and his Washington D.C. debut at the Kennedy Center, for which The Washington Post praised his “playing of wisdom and light befitting an artist in the autumn of his career.” Young Concert Artists also bestowed upon him the Michaels Award, presenting him in a critically acclaimed solo recital at Alice Tully Hall. In 1995 he became the youngest winner of the Gilmore Young Artist Award and in 1999 was awarded an Avery Fisher Career Grant.
Mr. Neiman has performed as soloist with orchestras including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the San Francisco Symphony, and the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington, D.C. He has appeared in recital throughout the U.S., Europe, and Japan, where he made an eight-city tour culminating in his debut at Tokyo’s Suntory Hall in 2002.
Mr. Neiman has recorded two discs for the VAI Audio label: Adam Neiman: Chopin Recital, a DVD/CD released in 2006, as well as a two-disc set entitled Adam Neiman Live in Recital featuring works by Bach, Chopin, Schumann, Fauré, and Rachmaninoff, released in 2005.
An avid chamber musician, Mr. Neiman joined the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center II in 2004 and is a member of two trios: the Corinthian Trio with YCA Alumnus and violinist Stefan Milenkovich and cellist Ani Aznavoorian, and the newly-formed Trio Virtuosi with YCA Alumna and flutist Eugenia Zukerman and cellist Gary Levinson. In addition to his career as a concert pianist, Mr. Neiman is a composer. His Piano Trio was recently premiered at the Seattle Chamber Music Festival.
