Alexander Buzlov
Cello
Alexander Buzlov was born in Moscow in 1983. He studied at the Moscow Conservatoire with Natalia Gutman and at Musikhochschule Köln with Frans Helmerson. At master-classes he got a chance to study with renowned cellists Mstislav Rostropovich, Daniil Shafran and Bernard Greenhouse. Today Alexander tutors other students at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and continues his solo career. Buzlov won a number of top prizes including Grands Prix in nominations “Cello” and “Chamber Ensemble” on the National Russian Open Competition “New Names” in Moscow, the Second Prize on the ARD Competition in Munich, the Second Prize of the Concours de Genève, Grand Prix and Audience Prize of the Feuermann Competition in Berlin and the whole series of prizes conquered on the Tchaikovsky International Competition in Moscow.
